18 things I learnt in 18 years of my life!
These are the most important 18 things I have learnt in my 18 years of experience. A little you may know, a little you may not. But trust me, when I applied these things to my life, my life changed.
1. Being grateful:- Being grateful for whatever I have. I am a person who believes that whatever happens, happens for good. Being grateful in certain situations has taught me various things. Either you can cry for the thing which you thought would happen but didn't or you can be grateful for that thing to take place. Being grateful opens up certain opportunities which may be big in your life. It doesn’t mean convincing yourself of some bogus stereotype that everything’s fine, but showing gratitude and believing that everything will become fine.
2. Unless you start, you would never achieve greatness:- Throughout the day, various opportunities come in our lives and we tend to forget that time is the greatest asset for a being. You will never sense greatness and success until you start doing things and working on them. Some decisions in our lives are to be taken spontaneously. The longer you wait for certain things to happen, the longer you will be kept waiting.
3. When you start something new, you tend to make mistakes and that’s completely fine:- Hope that the previous point gave you enough motivation to start things and work on them to achieve greatness in your life. Now that you have the motivation to start, you need to realise that mistakes are a kind of asset themselves. Trying new things may not always go as planned or will eventually fail, but be happy for the fact that you started, had fun throughout the process and gained experience and knowledge from the work. Making mistakes is completely fine until you learn from them and they add some value to your life. Therefore don’t be scared to start something new, make mistakes and learn from them.
4. Type really fast with all fingers:- Today, fast typing is very important in almost every field. Typing fast with all ten fingers saves you a lot of time and also it is very beneficial in a lot of ways. It makes you look cool when you can type fast and research has shown that typing fast improves your concentration and productivity to a certain level. The faster you type, the longer you can sit and concentrate on your work without getting distracted and complete a load of work in a small amount of time. Here’s a link where you can practice fast typing and improve your typing speed to the extreme which will help you in a lot of ways.

5. “Be scared” to try out certain things:- At different stages of your life, you get introduced to many new things. Some of them are good for you while some of them are bad. You have to be tough with your decisions and SAY NO to certain things which you know will be bad for you. Be scared to try that kind of thing and never let someone force you. Live your life the way you want!
6. HELL YES OR NO:- This is the rule I follow in my life whenever I need to take a quick decision and I am confused about it. Whenever I need to take a decision, I ask myself a question, and the answer can only be one of these two things, “ HELL YES OR NO.” You need to ask questions to yourself and the answer will come from within. In situations where you do not know what to do, you ask yourself if the thing I am going to do, adds some value to your life, is it entertaining or will it be fun? And somehow you will get an answer, “A hell yes or a straight no.”
7. Rewrite the rules for yourself:- We all have been living our lives based on the rules which we haven’t written ourselves. Why should that continue, we have to rewrite rules for our lives. Everyone has a different life and a different vibe to it. Based on one common stereotype, how can everyone live? Therefore write the rules for your life again and make it your thing!
8. No equivalent to kindred:- Your family and friends are your hidden treasures, seek them and enjoy their riches. That bonding, that love and that vibe are unmatched. There is no equivalent to your family and your friends. They will love you, support you, will make you laugh and most importantly, they will be there with you in your tough times. Never let go of them and be happy with their success. Never let that bond become fragile, and always be at your best to help them. Wishing you all a very happy new phase of your life [those who have started college or will start in the future] and stay in touch!
9. Don’t get comfortable:- Inspired by Kelly Wakasa, I have learnt to find adventures in our daily lives. He is a great YouTuber, who loves to “DO WHAT EXCITES!!” Living our lives the way we have been living is fine, but finding adventures and tasks in it makes it even more interesting and worth living for. Accepting challenges instead of complaining about them is the way to go. Get out of your comfort zone, and hustle hard. “DO WHAT EXCITES.”

10. Be a good very great listener:- Listening to people is a very great gesture to show respect. Listening to people gives them that sense of importance. It also shows your etiquette and it boosts your confidence. Research has shown that listening to people not only gives them a sense of importance but is also quite beneficial for the one who is listening. It improves the quality of your thinking, makes you a wonderful thinker in every aspect and you become a great writer. Therefore, people suggest listening to podcasts. 11. Health is the number 1 priority:- YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS. Health should be the number one priority. No matter how much you workout, how much you train in a week. Until you challenge yourself to lead a better life, eat healthily and follow a routine, you will never have good health. For having good health, you must follow these 3 things - train, eat healthy food and have a schedule. I will be completely honest here. I love working out, it is like a passion for me, but I do not like to eat healthy food. I still eat junk food and also I do not have a proper routine. But I am trying, and for a fact, I know that I will be following these things soon. Trust yourself with the process and lead a better and healthy lifestyle.
12. Learn human psychology and human behavioural science:- Everyone is different, and therefore everyone needs to be handled differently. Having a business mindset, you have to keep in mind that you will be dealing with different kinds of people regularly in the future as well as in the present. Therefore, learning these things is very important in today’s world to grow as a company/individual or a group. The better understanding you have of your people, the better you can manage them and the better they will work and contribute to your growth.
13. Time is your greatest asset:- There was one video on YouTube I watched the other day and they conducted research. There were 2 men, one was given enough money to survive and the other was given no money but TIME. The other one had no time. He had multiple works to do for which he was getting paid. Now, the one who was paid for work was told to work for only 1 month and save that money which he has earned. After one month, he couldn’t save a lot of money and spent almost all the money he had. On the other hand, the person who had a lot of time got various ideas to earn money and after one month he implemented those ideas and made more money than the first person, while the first person was now broke and was too weak to start all over again. The only thing to take from this is if you have time you can build anything from scratch. But time management is the only important thing associated with it.
14. Books are your best friends:- To be honest, I was never fond of reading books until 2020. Especially, books without any images or pictures felt like torture. But gradually I started reading books and it was seriously life-changing. Seeing my friends who read books made me wonder, what would that book contain for me? That single question encouraged me to read books and the more books I read, the more I fell in love with them. My friends, my father and my family encouraged me to read books and I thought that I should at least try. And I can now say that it was one of the best decisions of my life. Also, you all know the benefits of reading books, therefore I am not gonna highlight them. Start reading books if you haven’t already. I linked some good recommendations in the previous issue of my newsletter. Make sure to read that too!!
15. Financial literacy is the ultimate skill:- Financial literacy is the base for investing, making money and not just making money, but to keep multiplying it and holding it for a long time. Financial literacy is the base for a GOOD INCOME. Nowadays, there are a lot of courses available online to learn about the finance which will help you to keep a track of it and make you rich. Just start learning and acquiring knowledge about it and you will be secure about your money-related problems, trust me. Managing money and your funds is as important as managing your time.
16. Start journaling:- Start journaling or at least start writing something which will make you feel better or make you happy when you read that thing again. Writing gives you immense power to let your emotions run down through a piece of paper which ultimately lightens the weight on your shoulders. From the day I started journaling, I have been completely astonished by its powers. I never believed that writing things down on paper with a pen or writing it digitally will give me peace until I started. There is a pretty famous tweet which said,
Workout 30 minutes every day and you will be stronger than 90% of people.
Read 20 minutes every day and you will be smarter than 90% of people.
Journal 10 minutes every day and you will be happier than 90% of people.
Strive for consistency, not intensity.
17. Asking for forgiveness is the best thing you can do:- If it is your fault, ask for forgiveness, even if it is from a person younger than you. There should be no shame to ask for forgiveness. It is the best thing you can do to maintain relations and live life happily. Don’t let your ego play with your mind.
18. Don’t wait to be perfect and don’t let your ego come in your way. The longer you wait, the longer you have to wait. And kill your ego as it is your greatest enemy. Both these things are pretty self-explanatory and we know these things already. Yet we tend to neglect it in situations. Practice these things and your life shall become better each day.
