Do you remember when you were a kid and your parents gave you money to bring something from the general store? Or you went out to play and your mom called and asked you to bring something while returning home? Well, we all remember right? I always got these orders from my dad and mom. I kept a small amount of money or the money left after buying the things they told me to, as a reward for helping them. They gave me the money but with a condition: it should be kept in the piggy bank and I can only use it when they let me.
As a child, I never understood why my dad talked to me about money so much. He never stopped me from buying things that I wanted, but he always told me to not waste even a single penny on a thing which I already have or is not worth. As I grew older, I started to understand what he meant. As I saw the world more, the things he said got clearer and more meaningful.
Now, that I am old enough to understand the world and how it works, I realise that as a child you may not always understand what your parents talk to you about but at least you should listen and try to absorb as much as possible. To be honest, I always listened to dad but never saved a lot of money. I used to buy chocolates or stationery with the money I had. I wanted to buy things which my classmates had and never thought that it was of no use to me and I am buying it just because my friend has them.
The thing is until you are in a situation where you have a scarcity of a resource, you never understand how important it is. Seeing the poor people who don’t even have a place to sleep at night, or to eat 3 meals a day makes me think how lucky I am. How insanely lucky I am to have family like mine, have friends like mine!!
Coming to a different place for further studies, I thought that it would be easy to live! But life throws different challenges at you every time you tend to get comfortable with a thing. Came to a new place, saw many new things, and learned a lot and the most important lesson I have learnt till now is money management. Living on a budget is the most difficult thing when you as a student have so many expenses. But that’s the real fun!! Life at each moment will throw you into a space where you are in trouble. Life at every second will teach you a lesson or teach you something important. It is just that at what time and stage of your life will you understand that lesson which will make you 1% better than your previous self.
The hard work you do to give your loved ones the best life and to make sure they don’t face any problems. The amount of love you pour into our lives is unmatchable !!! Thanks for always being with me dad and you are the best!!!
Just wanted you to know that I am very fine and safe here and whatever you taught me and will teach me will always stay with me! Will make you proud one day for sure and I LOVE YOU DAD. ❤️🔥
